i would equate your return to the writing desk to that of Yuri in "Doctor Zhivago" when he arrives at a great Russian farm house, walks thru a snow/frost covered room, and sees a writing desk. He wipes the snow away from the desk's surface. After a long journey, literally and figuratively, he is ready to write.
